Monday Musings - Ten Minutes That Actually Make a Difference

A tiny habit that quietly lifts the whole community

Some days, it feels like everything in business takes hours. Planning, posting, replying, creating… the list never ends. But every now and then, something reminds me that not everything has to be big or time‑consuming to make a difference. Sometimes it’s the small, almost throwaway moments that actually shift things the most. Like ten minutes.

10 minutes every so often

Ten minutes is nothing, really. It’s the time it takes to make a coffee, scroll aimlessly, or stare out the window pretending to think about work. But ten minutes, used with intention, can actually do something pretty powerful — especially when it comes to supporting the people building businesses alongside us.

Lately, I’ve been taking a few minutes out of my day to show up for other business owners online. Nothing dramatic. Just liking a post here, leaving a comment there, sharing something that made me smile or think. It’s tiny. It’s quick. And honestly, it feels good. It feels like a small way of saying, “I see you. Keep going.”

And the truth is, we all know how much those little boosts matter. A comment can push a post a bit further. A share can introduce someone to a new audience. A like can remind someone that their work isn’t disappearing into the void. Engagement isn’t just numbers — it’s encouragement. It’s community. It’s that quiet nudge that says, “You’re not doing this alone.”

You are not alone

So I’ve been wondering… if I can spare ten minutes, could you?

Not every day. Not a big commitment. Just whenever you’ve got a moment between tasks, or while you’re waiting for the kettle to boil, or when you’re avoiding that email you don’t want to write. Ten minutes to follow, like, share, repost, or comment on the posts of the people trying to build something, just like you are.

Imagine if we all did that. Imagine the lift it would give. Not just to the numbers, but to the people behind them. I’m doing my bit — quietly, consistently, without making it a big thing. Just showing up in small ways that add up. And if you’ve got a few minutes today, I’d love you to join in. It’s simple, it’s human, and it genuinely helps.

Ten minutes. That’s all.
